Make a complaint

If you think we have mishandled your personal data - including if we emailed you and you never asked us to - you can complain to us here. You do not need an account, you do not need to have used the site, and you do not need to explain who you are beyond an address we can reply to.

So we can acknowledge this and reply. Nothing else is done with it.

If we emailed you, the address we used. If it is about a store, its domain.

In your own words. You do not need to cite any law or use any particular wording.

What we will do

You get an automatic acknowledgement immediately, so you have a record that it arrived. A person then reads it, looks into what you have raised, and writes back with the outcome. We aim to do that within 30 days; if it is going to take longer we will tell you why rather than going quiet.

We keep the acknowledgement as proof we received your complaint. After 2 years your address is removed from it and what remains is that a complaint was acknowledged on that date. We do not store the text of your complaint in a database - it reaches our inbox and nowhere else.

Going to the regulator instead

You do not have to come to us first, and you do not need our permission. You can complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office at any point, including while we are still looking at it.
